SCH8530S Narrow Design Heavy Duty Panic-Rated Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device / Smooth Housing / Grade 1

SCH8530S narrow design heavy duty panic-rated surface vertical rod exit devices with smooth housing are used for the aluminum frame full glass doors or narrow stile aluminum doors applications. Narrow design fire SVR exit devices are used for the aesthetics requirements of wide stile (2438mm x 2438mm) (8′ x 8′).
The Exit devices are available in the following finishes: US3, US4, US10, US10B, US26, US26D, US32D.

Quiet Solution (Option)

A mechanical damper controls the motion and reduces the noise associated with the exit device operation to provide customers with a quieter environment.
Specify “Quiet Solution” when ordering.

Why Is Panic Hardware Required?

Panic hardware is often mandated by building codes for certain types of buildings and areas, including but not limit to: schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, theaters and stadiums, etc.

Vertical Rods	1/2″ (13 mm) diameter tubular with rod guides. Top rod has two pieces to connect for accommodating 7’or 8′ door. Bottom rod is one piece, its length is 31 ¹/₄″ (794 mm)
Projection	Pushbar Neutral: 3 ¹/₁₆″ (78 mm), Pushbar Depressed: 2 ¹⁹/₃₂″ (66 mm)

The devices are precut for 914 mm (36″) and 1219 mm (48″) wide doors (standard shipping size). No additional cutting is necessary.

Short (36″): 33 ⁵/₃₂″ (842 mm)
Long (48″): 45 ¹/₈″ (1146 mm)

For narrow doors, trim the “A” portion to fit a door width minus 2″ (51 mm).

Standard vertical rods fit 7′ (2134 mm) panic exit doors or 8′ (2438 mm) fire exit doors. For taller doors, specify the height when ordering to receive a longer top rod.
